car computers are extermly basic computers compaired to alot of computer systems today thier main purpose is to monitor the engines status and maintain specific RPMs they adjust the air and fuel mixture to do so. doing this is not easy oxygen sensors sre used top adjust the fuel mixture and a sensor in the air intake adjust the air mixture i work on cars myself so my information comes from my experience
P.s cars have several computers to monitor different things on cars
